The Process

Initial Consultation with Surgeon – an exploration of your options for weight loss surgery and your chance to get to know your surgeon and ask questions.

Consultation with Psychologist – Surgery is a big decision. We at the Khalili Center want to make sure you’re ready in every way — including emotionally — to make the commitment.

Consultation with Dietician – The Dietician will go over all nutritional aspects of your weight loss journey—from pre-surgery to recovery to long-term healthy eating.

Join a Support Group – Support Groups are an integral part of the Khalili Center’s approach to integrated care, and a great place to meet others who’ve gone through bariatric surgery. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and hear their experiences —and learn how successful treatment has helped transform their lives.

Pre-Operative Tests & Labs – To make sure surgery goes as smoothly as possible, we ask all of our patients to undergo a series of tests and laboratory studies. We like to know as much medical information as possible before we do surgery.

Multi Disciplinary Meeting – This is a specialized meeting conducted by your surgeon, dietician, psychology and other members of the Khalili Center team.  We’ll discuss your case and work together to make sure you have everything you need to get through surgery and aftercare effectively.

Pre-Operative Visit – This is the perfect opportunity to ask your doctor any other questions or express any concerns you may have. During this visit
you’ll also receive your “marching orders”  for the days right before surgery

Surgery – The beginning of a healthier and more satisfying life.

Your Care After Surgery –  Although a number of aftercare visits will be scheduled with your surgeon, the other doctors are also available to you—at any time—for consultation or to address any of your clinical needs.

Other Office Visits and Phone Calls – Our philosophy at the Khalili Center is that no question is too small, so we’re here for you 24/7.  Should you want to schedule a phone call or office visit with our doctors, nurses, physical therapists, dietician or psychologists, all of this is available to you.  Any time.
